Preliminary 2017 schedule

THURSDAY (Sept. 14)

 

Lee Historical Society Cemetery Tour ~ Fairmount Cemetery, 5:00 pm.

 

 

FRIDAY

 

Taste of Lee; 5:00-8:00 pm

 

Main Street will be closed from Academy Street to Park Street during the event to allow our participants to line the street with their wares and to ensure that attendees can enjoy dining al fresco in a street festival atmosphere - food, music, & fun - in a safe environment. There will be limited parking in this area beginning at 4:00 pm. *

 

Musical performances by Robin O'Herin, Housatonic Philharmonic, and Moonshine Holler from 4:00-8:00 on Main Street. 

  

 

Main street vendors ~ Community organizations offering food and other items for sale; raffles, contests, and keepsakes.

 


Friday, Sept 15 - CreativeLEE XVII,  Reception 3 - 5 pm in the J. Peter Scolforo Gallery at the Lee Library.  CreativeLEE is the 17th annual exhibit of local art sponsored by the Lee Library Association, 100 Main St.

CARR Hardware, 5:00-8:00 pm ~ Children's Carnival , bouncy houses, games, cotton candy, popcorn, fun & games + Sidewalk Sale.

 

Street Artisans/Craft Fair, Friday & Saturday ~ Offering hand-made jewelry; wood products; paper art; wind chimes and more. On Main street.

  

 

 

SATURDAY

 

5K Road Race, 8:00 am ~ Runners will be tackling the Finnegan Course at Lee High School. Register for the race by mailing in a completed registration form and $15.00; or in person on race day $20.00. Race day registration will be on the lawn at Lee Middle & High Street at 300 Greylock Street in Lee starting at 7:00 am. For online registration: http://berkshirerunningcenter-com.3dcartstores.com/Founders-Day-5K_p_65.html

 

Hometown Parade, 10:00 am

 

Grand Marshall: STAY TUNED 

 

Parade participants will begin assembling at 9:30 am and the parade will step off promptly at 10:00 am. There will be limited parking on Center Street to allow participants to prepare to march. Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Center Street to the Ice Rink (parade termination site) during the parade (approx. 1 hour). Dick Lindsey will again serve as Master of Ceremonies from in front of The Morgan House Restaurant.

 

Street Artisans/Craft Fair, Friday & Saturday ~ Offering hand-made jewelry; wood products; paper art; wind chimes and more. 

 

Bowey the Clown Magic Show, 11:30 am ~ Bowey will perform for local children and offer free face-painting, games, and balloon art at the Lee Athletic Field (behind The Rink on Housatonic Street). 

 

Big Green Egg Cooking Contest, 11:30-1:30 ~ Come watch and taste some of the best local restaurants cook on the Big Green Egg Cookers and compete against each other for the title of "The Best Non-Beef Burger in Town!" All proceeds to benefit the Kiwanis Club of Lee

 

Sponsored by Henry's Electric; location: DPW Gazebo. *

 

 

Lee Sons of Italy Italian Grinder Sale Annual Fundraiser, 11:00-2:00 ~ Church Park.*
